As Chartered Professional Accountants, we are also bound by the CPABC Code of Professional Conduct, which requires us to keep client information confidential. Personal Information. Information you provide to us, such as your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, date of birth, and Social Insurance Number, when you fill out a form, book a consultation, become a client, or contact us.

Tax and Financial Information. Information and documents you provide so we can deliver bookkeeping, tax, and consulting services, such as tax slips, receipts, financial records, and information about your spouse or dependants where needed for your return.

Usage Data. Information collected automatically when you visit the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, and pages viewed.

Payment Information. Information related to payment for our services. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, and we store little or no payment card information ourselves.

Mobile Information. Your mobile phone number and SMS consent, if you choose to receive text messages from us.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide bookkeeping, tax preparation, consulting, and related services

• Prepare and file tax returns and other filings on your behalf

• Respond to inquiries and schedule consultations

4. SMS / Text Messaging

If you opt in to receive text messages from RidgeWood CPA, we collect your mobile phone number and record your consent. We use this information only to send you the messages you agreed to receive.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except as needed to provide the messaging service itself (for example, our SMS platform provider and wireless carriers that deliver the messages).

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in these limited situations:

Government Agencies. With your authorization, we submit information to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and other government agencies as needed to file your returns and respond to their inquiries.

Service Providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate our practice, such as tax and accounting software, cloud storage, secure document portals, practice management, payment processing, website hosting, email, and SMS delivery. These providers may use your information only to perform services for us and are required to protect it.

Legal and Professional Requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or other legal process, or as required by CPABC, including during a professional practice review.

Business Transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our practice, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same protections described in this policy.

All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with any third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

6. Cookies and Analytics

Our Site is hosted by Squarespace, which uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site and help us understand how visitors use it. Squarespace collects information such as your browser, device, IP address, and the pages you view. When you submit a form on the Site, we collect the information you enter so we can respond to you. If you receive marketing emails from us, such as newsletters or tax season reminders, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of the email.

Our website is not directed to children. We collect information about minors only when it is needed to prepare a return for a parent or guardian, or when a parent or guardian engages us on a minor's behalf.
